Feminist "THOUGHTS on" Book Posts

In May of 2015, I changed the way that I structure my "THOUGHTS on" book posts to incorporate various tests for female (i) agency, (ii) complexity, and (iii) presence in media. The idea was that all romance novels, whether they provoked extreme feelings in me as a reader or not, could be objectively evaluated according to these basic tests for feminism. This would allow me to assess all of the books I read, as opposed to only reviewing the books that I really, really loved, or really really hated. And secondly, I thought it would be interesting to see whether range of female agency/complexity/presence correlated to my enjoyment of the book.

Here is a list of the posts that were written in this structure:

May 8th, 2015: Introduction to the tests: The Sexy Lamp, Mako Mori and Bechdel Test

May 8th, 2015: THOUGHTS on Nalini Singh's "Hostage to Pleasure" (Book 5 of the "Psy-Changeling" series)

May 11th, 2015: THOUGHTS on Nalini Singh's "Rock Hard" (Book 2 of the "Rock Kiss" series)

May 18th, 2015: THOUGHTS on Meljean Book's "Demon Bound" (book 4 of the "Guardians" series)

Upcoming/Planned:
